NOTES & DETAILS
By the time this specific now defunct Russian Ruble is issued, the Berlin Wall has fallen, food rationing is taking hold and paper
currency values are plummeting. Bread lines, fuel shortages, lack of heat, power rationing and Ponzi schemes collide to bring the Soviet economy and its people to their knees. Interestingly, the less valuable the currency became, the bigger the icon and bust of Lenin became on the paper bills. Using art to create the perception of value, where none exists, is an old trick.
Acquired early on, by a collector, this piece has never been shown outside of the studio. However it can be available to institutions, from the collector, as a loaner for display.
