Folk Hero & Boogeyman
Artist Brian Drake reflects in paint, that after no longer being useful to the US government, Ho Chi Mihn is turned into the boogey man, villain and threat to the American way of life. 13k miles from the west coat of the United States, with 59k lives lost on the US side and close two 2.2M lives lost in Southeast Asia, based on a lie and propaganda, with no real victor and no actual change in geo politics, Ho Chi is considered a folk hero to many and still appears on their current bank notes. The impact of conflict is not lost on the value of labor and currency in Southeast Asia. Today the Vietnamese Dong is usually in top three of most worthless bank notes in the world compared to the Pound Sterling and The US Dollar. It appears that 20 years of conflict was
really good at paving the way for cheap labor into the 21st century. 49.125x49.25
