Over painted on actual Bolivars, this sister painting to the larger Veregunza De Bolivar offers another look at Venezuelan currency and the
struggle of a nation through oil paint, wax, paper and texture.
Scaled to read like currency, this painting collides with a comic sense of futility in the figurative elements and feminization of the masculine figure. Both whimsical and serious, this painting challenges narratives, and invites the viewer in on the conversation.
